The Gladiolus is a perennial flower known for its beautiful, showy flowers. Their flowers grow on tall spikes and open from the bottom and work their way upward creating a long spire of blooms. Although many gardeners grow gladiolus for use as cut flowers, they are also attractive planted in an annual garden or in the back along a border as they grow tall in height. Gladioli also known as the Sword Lily have many different colored flowers varying from pink, red, purple, yellow, orange and white.
